Pi Insight & Research Ltd has taken the strategic decision to separate the Shelftrak service into a standalone business, effective now. This move reflects Pi Insight's ongoing commitment to focus on its core expertise in consumer and shopper research, while enabling Shelftrak to accelerate its growth as a technology-led retail execution business.

This move reflects a shared vision between both businesses to focus on their respective strengths and drive long-term growth, while continuing a close and collaborative relationship.

Pi Insight will continue to strengthen its position as a leading specialist in consumer and shopper research. Known for its deep expertise in the travel retail sector, Pi Insight will further expand its capabilities in behavioral analytics, fusing its qualitative and quantitative research with sales and commercial data to deliver deeper, more actionable insights.

“This is an exciting next step for both businesses. While Shelftrak accelerates its path as a commercial AI technology company, Pi Insight remains firmly focused on decoding shopper behavior. Our mission is to help brands see not just what happened, but why, and what to do next. We look forward to collaborating with Shelftrak where our services naturally align.” — Stephen Hillam, Managing Director, Pi Insight & Research Ltd

Shelftrak Ltd will now operate under the leadership of Garry Stasiulevicuis (Managing Director) and Simon Best (Commercial Director), supported by its experienced team to ensure continuity of service. The business is evolving into a full-scale technology-led company, focused on delivering AI-powered Image Recognition and execution intelligence for the global travel retail industry.

“Our goal is simple, we’re going all-in on AI to drive better execution and shopping experiences. From reducing out-of-stocks and improving compliance to enhancing display standards, our technology is already delivering results for major global brand owners across confectionery, beauty, alcoholic beverages, and more.” — Garry Stasiulevicuis, Managing Director, Shelftrak

Shelftrak’s offering includes two core services: the Global Category Tracking Service, and the Shelftrak Compliance service, which together provide scalable, SKU-level insights into category share, planogram compliance, price and promotional tracking and in-store execution performance across over 50 airports and 75 retail locations worldwide. These solutions enable major brand owners to quickly identify gaps, course-correct strategies, and optimize execution with precision.

“This change gives us the freedom and focus to continue transforming Shelftrak into the go-to solution for AI-led retail execution,” said Simon Best. “We’re energized by the opportunity and grateful to Pi Insight for their continued support as we grow.” — Simon Best, Commercial Director, Shelftrak

The companies will continue to work closely where services overlap, delivering end-to-end insight solutions that connect the dots between shopper understanding and execution effectiveness.
